Vladimir Putin congratulated Nicolas Maduro on being elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Mr Putin and Mr Maduro confirmed their readiness to continue the progressive development of bilateral cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership. The leaders also discussed some practical matters in Russian-Venezuelan cooperation.
