Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde.
The financial and economic crisis in Ukraine was the subject of discussion. The Russian President informed the IMF chief about the steps Russia is taking to help Ukraine's economy by supplying energy resources at preferential prices and also by providing assistance through banking community. The parties expressed hope that the IMF will continue to further assist Ukraine in resolving the serious challenges it is facing.
Vladimir Putin and Christine Lagarde agreed to maintain contact.
