Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff on the passing of Oscar Niemeyer.
The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“We have lost a creative talent who made a unique contribution to world architecture. His legacy, which has done so much to define modern urban planning, is a priceless heritage for the whole of humanity.”
Mr Putin asked to convey his sincere words of sympathy and support to Oscar Niemeyer’s family and his condolences to the entire Brazilian people on the death of the outstanding architect, who was an influential public figure and a great friend of Russia.
