Greetings to 47th General Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation Parliamentary Assembly

June 29, 2016

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the 47th General Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation Parliamentary Assembly, which Russia is chairing as the country currently presiding in the Parliamentary Assembly.

The message reads, in part:

“The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation member-states have built up considerable experience in working together in a variety of areas. Particularly important in developing partnership ties is the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly — an influential international body that facilitates substantive dialogue between the member countries’ legislative assemblies. The parliamentarians’ work plays a big part in shaping the dynamics of our trade, economic and investment ties and maintaining the level of our relations in social, scientific, technological, and humanitarian fields.

I am certain that the measures you have outlined for expanding mutually advantageous cooperation within the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly and in organising contacts with colleagues in the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly will help to strengthen stability, security and good-neighbourly relations in the Black Sea region”.

The BSEC Parliamentary Assembly is called twice a year (spring and autumn sessions) and brings together representatives from the parliaments of 12 countries in the Black Sea area and the southern Balkans. Russia holds the presidency in the assembly until June 30, when Serbia takes over.
