The President signed the Federal Law On Ratifying the Treaty on the Foundations of Relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Haiti.
The federal law ratifies the Treaty on the Foundations of Relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Haiti, which was signed in New York on September 29, 2015.
The treaty confirms the intention of the sides to develop relations in line with the provisions of the UN Charter and on the basis of the principles of sovereign equality and self-determination of states, non-use of force or its threat, non-interference in domestic affairs and other universally recognized standards of international law.
In addition, the treaty provides for the development of cooperation on a broad range of issues in the trade, economic, social, environmental, cultural, educational and sports areas, as well as in developing healthcare and preventing emergencies and eliminating their consequences. The sides also agreed to cooperate in countering transnational organised crime and terrorism.
