Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the Transfer of Individuals Sentenced to Prison Terms.
The agreement was signed in Abuja on June 24, 2009.
The agreement was prepared in line with current international treaty practice and international standards, and in accordance with Russian Federation laws, in order to create the international legal framework for Russia-Nigeria cooperation on the transfer of individuals sentenced to prisons terms. It will help protect the rights and legal interests of Russian and Nigerian citizens.
