Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Uzbek side’s initiative.
The two leaders exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and noted, in particular, the importance of preserving the memory of the heroic deeds of soldiers and homefront workers.
During the discussion about the coronavirus pandemic, the presidents praised the assistance in combatting the spread of the infection that Russia and Uzbekistan provide to each other. They reaffirmed their intention to maintain close cooperation in this area.
Some other topical issues regarding bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were also discussed.
