Certain provisions of international treaties with the European Community and a number of European states have been suspended

The President signed the Federal Law On the suspension by the Russian Federation of certain provisions of international treaties of the Russian Federation with the European Community, the Kingdom of Denmark, Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway, the Swiss Confederation on the simplification of the procedure for issuing visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and the European Union, the Kingdom of Denmark, Iceland, the Principality Liechtenstein, Kingdom of Norway, and Swiss Confederation.

In accordance with federal law, and in response to unfriendly actions by the European Union and certain foreign countries, a number of provisions in international treaties between the Russian Federation and the European Community, the Kingdom of Denmark, Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway, the Swiss Confederation on the simplification of the procedure for issuing visas to citizens of the above parties have been suspended.

The Russian Federation suspends the provisions of the above international treaties in part providing for visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports and a simplified procedure for issuing visas for members of official delegations, national and regional governments and parliaments, constitutional and supreme courts, as well as for journalists from foreign states.
