The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 151 and 152 of the Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law is intended to improve the legal regulation of testing foreign citizens in the Russian language, Russian history and the basics of the Russian Federation legislation.
Specifically, the Federal Law stipulates that the examination of foreign citizens in the Russian language, Russian history, and the basics of the Russian Federation legislation and the issuance of corresponding certificates shall only be carried out by state institutions on the list compiled by the Government of the Russian Federation. The amount of payment due for the examination is also established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Apart from that, the Federal Law prohibits the said state institutions from transferring the rights to hold the said examinations and issue the certificates to third persons.
