The Palace of the Nation hosted talks between Vladimir Putin and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Following a restricted-attendance meeting, the talks continued with the participation of national delegations.
Earlier, an official ceremony welcoming the President of Russia by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took place ahead of the talks. The national anthems of both countries were played, and the leaders introduced the members of their official delegations. A guard of honour marched past at the end of the ceremony.
Following the state visit, the presidents signed a joint statement on deepening relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
Additionally, a package of interstate, intergovernmental and interagency documents was signed during the summit.
An interstate agreement on the legal status of representative offices of competent authorities for internal affairs and migration in Russia and Tajikistan has been signed, alongside intergovernmental documents pertaining to the organised recruitment of Tajikistani citizens for temporary employment in Russia and their medical examination, as well as an action plan to increase trade between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025–2030.
In particular, interdepartmental documents have been signed regarding cooperation between the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation and the National Guard of the Republic of Tajikistan, cooperation in developing and populating the Geoportal hosting spatial infrastructure data for CIS countries, cooperation in transport, education, healthcare and social protection, as well as matters concerning the use of the radio frequency spectrum and countering the dissemination of unlawful information and online resources via the Internet, including fraudulent calls in the provision of communication services.
Furthermore, a roadmap has been signed between the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan for conducting pre-project radiation surveys and investigations of the Digmai tailings storage facility in Tajikistan, as well as developing an updated financial and economic feasibility study for its rehabilitation, alongside a number of other documents.
Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon also made statements for the media.
