The Presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan laid wreaths at the Eternal Flame

November 25, 2025, Bishkek

Vladimir Putin and Sadyr Japarov laid wreaths at the Eternal Flame memorial on Victory Square in Bishkek.

The Presidents honoured the memory of fallen defenders with a moment of silence; after that, soldiers in the guard of honour fired three rifle volleys.

The Eternal Flame memorial was built in 1985 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The memorial’s central composition features a symbolic yurta and a sculpture of a mother standing below. The woman is waiting for her husband and sons to come back, and the Eternal Flame is burning at her feet.
