Vladimir Putin has sent his greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the 30th anniversary of the international recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The message reads, in part:
“Ashgabat’s consistent and constructive foreign policy – a course to the formation and implementation of which you have made a significant personal contribution – is rightly valued by the international community. The amicable relations your country maintains with its neighbours in Central Asia and the Caspian region undoubtedly contribute to ensuring peace, security, and stability in this vital part of the Eurasian continent.
Russian-Turkmen relations have now reached an unprecedentedly high level of deepened strategic partnership. I firmly believe that they will continue to develop fruitfully in the interests of our friendly peoples.”
