Representative (Sherpa) of the President of Russia in the Group of Twenty, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate Svetlana Lukash chaired a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to support Russia’s participation in the G20. The meeting was attended by executives from the relevant Russian ministries and agencies.
The meeting participants discussed in detail the priorities and programme of the US Presidency in this leading international forum for economic cooperation. In 2026, the programme will focus on key areas such as economic growth, reducing regulatory burdens, energy abundance, and innovative development. Particular attention was given to ensuring Russia’s interests in negotiations on trade, financial stability, energy security, and critical minerals, as well as to lowering barriers in the economy, investment and labour markets, and advancing artificial intelligence.
They also emphasised the importance of coordinated and constructive work within the G20 in close contact with the US Presidency and in cooperation with BRICS partners and the countries of the Global Majority.
Following the meeting, specialised working groups were created to address the main areas of the G20 negotiation agenda, and further steps for interdepartmental coordination were outlined for drafting decisions for the G20 Leaders’ Summit, scheduled for December 14–15, 2026 in Miami.
