Meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev

November 18, 2010, Baku

Dmitry Medvedev and Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed the upcoming OSCE summit in Astana and bilateral relations.

Referring to the upcoming OSCE summit in Astana, Dmitry Medvedev expressed confidence in its successful results and noted, in particular:

“The summit that will be held in Astana is a very important event, and not just for the region or Kazakhstan. Overall, this is an eminent international event, because summits like this one are not convened often, and they address issues of concern to a large number of states. I am certain that Kazakhstan will hold this summit at the highest level.”

Dmitry Medvedev also emphasised that this year, Russian-Kazakhstani contacts have gained additional momentum through another Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan and detailed “discussion of absolutely concrete projects, and now it is a matter of implementing the decisions that were made.”

The meeting was held following the third Caspian Summit.
