Vladimir Putin sent greetings to current and former workers of the Russian energy sector on their professional holiday.
The message reads, in part:
“The Russian energy industry has always boasted specialists with the highest qualifications, and it employs consummate professionals today. Indeed, you hold the key to the country’s energy security, economic growth and social development, the people’s quality of life and well-being. Your competence and dedication to the remarkable traditions of your predecessors are fundamental.
It is important that you are showing responsibility in your work, paying tireless attention to the modernisation of the industry’s infrastructure. The facilities are regularly upgraded, new generating capacity is added, hundreds of thousands of kilometres of power transmission lines are built annually, and digital and smart technologies are being widely introduced. And I must certainly note your efforts to rebuild the destroyed energy systems in the Donbass people's republics, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and to integrate them into the UES of Russia.”
