Vladimir Putin sent greetings to active and retired workers of the national energy sector on their professional holiday, Energy Industry Worker’s Day.
The message reads, in part:
“The energy sector is rightly considered a fundamental and strategic part of the national economy which plays a crucial role in expanding industrial production, agriculture and businesses, as well as enhancing the country’s national security. It largely determines the quality of life of millions of people.
I am pleased to note that you are celebrating your professional holiday with significant achievements, and that you are striving to effectively address large-scale objectives that meet the demands of the time. Priority objectives include the modernisation of power-generating facilities and the power grid infrastructure, the widespread introduction of modern digital and resource-saving technologies, as well as the reconstruction of power grids in Donbass and Novorossiya. Of course, it is also important to fully utilise the invaluable experience of retired industry workers, to cherish and expand their labour traditions.”
