Dmitry Medvedev and Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme discussed bilateral cooperation opportunities in trade, the economy, investment, high technology, energy, culture and sport.
Regional and global issues were also on the agenda at the talks, as were the results of the Russia-EU summit in Brussels on December 7, 2010, and the drafting of a new treaty on European security.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Leterme signed a declaration on a partnership for modernisation between Russia and Belgium and oversaw the signing of a memorandum of understanding on underground gas reservoirs between Gazprom Export and Fluxys company.
The visit to Brussels concluded with Mr Medvedev and Svetlana Medvedeva meeting with King Albert II of the Belgians and Queen Paola.
