Dmitry Medvedev congratulated residents of Kabardino-Balkaria on the 90th anniversary of the republic’s establishment.
The message reads, in part:
“Your republic is unique in its ethnic and religious diversity. Peace and mutual understanding between the various ethnic and religious groups is an imperative foundation for ensuring stability in the region.
Today, the republic is promoting rapid growth in agriculture and implementing significant energy projects. The region is home to Elbrus, the highest peak in our country, as well as unique nature reserves that attract tourists from around the world.
The region’s continued development requires a renewal in its industrial technology, expansion of modern transport infrastructure, and attracting investments. I am certain that through your joint efforts, you will be successful in resolving these current challenges, thereby increasing people’s living standards.”
