Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Acting Governor of Tyumen Region Alexander Moor. The meeting concerned topical matters of the region’s socioeconomic development. In particular, the President was interested in the details of a major healthcare centre construction project in the region.
The medical centre has been under construction since 2007. According to Alexander Moor, six facilities were built over the years, including a federal neurosurgery centre; a regional hospital was modernized; major renovation work was conducted at the Neftyanik medical station that was provided with new equipment; radiology and morphological centres were built. A Maternity Centre is being developed as a private project.
There are two more facilities that will complete the efforts. These are an oncological centre and a regional children’s hospital. The Healthcare Ministry is working on including the hospital in the nationwide project. As concerns the oncological centre, the Acting Governor asked the President for assistance in promoting the project. He said that in 2014, the Healthcare Ministry and the Finance Ministry worked on loans for the project via the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The concept was approved, but for objective reasons, there was no loan. The project is at a high stage of readiness.
Vladimir Putin stressed that the facilities need to be finished and appropriate funding must be found.
