Vladimir Putin congratulated residents of the Kaliningrad Region on its 75th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Russia’s western outpost, the Kaliningrad Region plays an important role in strengthening our position in the Baltic region. It has serious potential and a broad range of opportunities for attracting big investment and implementing in-demand projects in industry and the agro-industrial complex, ecology and tourism. Of course, it is important to pay primary attention to improving living standards, teaching the younger generation to have a careful, respectful attitude towards the natural wealth of the “Amber land,” and its unique landmarks of history and architecture.
I know that your initiative and sense of purpose will help you resolve ambitious tasks for the benefit of the region and Russia as a whole.”
