The President signed Executive Order On Measures to Reduce the Area of Forest Fires in the Russian Federation.
In an effort to scale down the potential area of forest fires, the Government of the Russian Federation and top officials in the Russian Federation constituent entities were instructed to reduce the area of forest fires on forestry lands by at least 50 percent in 2022–2030, based on the 2021 area.
Additionally, the Government was instructed to approve, within one month, specific target indicators for the Russian Federation regions to annually reduce the area of forest fires through to 2030, as well as calculation procedure for these indicators,.
Corresponding instructions have been issued to top officials in the Russian regions.
