Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings on the 50th anniversary of Nadym to the city residents and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev.
The message reads, in part:
“This anniversary is a big and important event for the city, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, and all of Russia. The history of Nadym was created by brave and talented people, true heroic pioneers: geologists, builders, engineers, workers, military and civilian specialists. In the harsh conditions of the Arctic, they developed gas fields and erected energy, transport, and social infrastructure facilities. They dreamed that Nadym would become a beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortable city to live in.
It is gratifying that you cherish the great labour traditions of your predecessors and feel proud of your northern home and its unique role in developing the Russian economy. You contribute to the prosperity of your beloved city with your successes and achievements, and aspirations for the future.”
