Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the current and former staff of the Perm State Art Gallery to congratulate them on the museum’s 100th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Times changed, and whole eras came and went, but your museum has always remained Perm’s major cultural landmark, a genuine centre of gravity for its residents and guests. Laid by the gallery’s founders, the traditions of selflessness and faithful service to your cause and an intricate understanding of its importance have been cherished and passed on from generation to generation.
It is gratifying that today’s team honours the great history of their museum and works tirelessly to expand its collections, while undertaking educational, awareness building and exhibition projects, and organising interesting tours and lectures for visitors of all ages, primarily young people and schoolchildren.”
