Thirteen venues for teenagers opened at the same time in different Russian cities at the initiative of Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova. They are set up across the country as part of the Teenagers of Russia programme supported by the President and implemented with the participation of the Federal Centre for Teenager Socialisation.
Maria Lvova-Belova opened the spaces via videoconference while she was in the new Teenage Territory centre in Ryazan. The ceremony was attended by Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov, with First Secretary, Head of the Political Section of the UAE Embassy in Russia Mohammad Al Mansoori attending as a guest of honour. He noted that the United Arab Emirates render support to the Teenagers of Russia strategic programme of the Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights. Earlier UAE Ambassador to Russia Dr Mohammed Al Jaber allocated charity funds to purchase additional equipment for existing teenager centres.
New teenager venues opened in the cities and towns of the republics of Chuvashia, Komi and Tuva, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, Perm Territory, Nizhny Novgorod Region as well as in the cities of Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, Tambov, Ryazan, Tula and Saratov.
Earlier this year, five teenager venues were launched in the Republic of Daghestan, in Belgorod, Novosibirsk and Penza regions.
Overall, 18 centres have been opened.
