Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions following the meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, residents of besieged Leningrad and representatives of public patriotic associations held on January 18, 2023.
The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Government of the Leningrad Region, was instructed to develop a project to modernise the Road of Life memorial and landscape complex, including cultural heritage sites that are part of the Green Belt of Glory of Leningrad ensemble.
The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Government of the Leningrad Region and the Government of St Petersburg, was instructed to develop a concept of the Small Road of Life historical project.
The instruction to the Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Movement of the First national children’s and youth movement, concerns the involvement of veterans, including former teachers, in educational work with students.
The instruction to the Ministry of Culture, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, concerns the preparation and dissemination of information materials in order to form in society, primarily among young people, a stable civic position regarding the crimes committed by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the Ukrainian regime that came to power through an anti-constitutional military coup in 2014.
The instruction to the Ministry of Education concerns the inclusion of works of literary fiction by Soviet writers, which form the historical consciousness of younger generation, in the federal basic general education programmes.
The Investigative Committee, with the involvement of public associations engaged in search work, was instructed to organise activities in the Donetsk People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic, the Zaporozhye Region and the Kherson Region to establish the burial places of Red Army soldiers and civilians killed by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the burial places of victims of crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis after the anti-constitutional armed coup of 2014.
The Government of St Petersburg received recommendations regarding the development of the State Memorial Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad as a museum, scientific and educational centre devoted to the history of the defence and siege of Leningrad, as well as the creation of a specialised research library and digital archive at the museum and their equipment with modern means of communication, storage and data processing.
