Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to the families of the children and councellor who died in a tragic accident on the Azov Sea.
The President instructed Governor of Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev to provide all necessary assistance and support to the victims’ families.
Mr Medvedev also instructed Prosecutor General Yury Chaika to conduct inspections of all children’s holiday centres in Krasnodar Territory, including the Azov Children’s Camp, where the victims of the accident were holidaying, to check on their compliance with safety regulations.
Six children and a camp councellor drowned while swimming at the Yeisk Spit in Krasnodar Territory.
