The President signed the Federal Law On Amendments to Separate Laws of the Russian Federation Related to Raising the Minimum Wage to the Subsistence Level of the Employable Population.
The Federal Law introduces amendments that set the minimum monthly wage at 9,489 rubles starting January 1, 2018 (currently at 7,800 rubles per month).
At the same time, a rule is introduced, according to which starting January 1, 2019, the minimum wage will be set by the federal law at the level of the employable population’s subsistence level for Russia as a whole for the second quarter of the previous year.
Under the amendments to the Federal Law On the Subsistence Level in the Russian Federation, the subsistence level per capita and for the main social and demographic population groups will be set in Russia in the manner defined by the Russian Government.
