Presidential grants to socially-oriented NPOs approved

January 21, 2025

First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko chaired a videoconference meeting of the Coordinating Committee for organising Presidential Grants competitions for the development of civil society. The meeting approved the allocation of grants for 2025.

The Coordinating Committee reviewed the results of the Presidential Grants competition, the applications for which were submitted in the autumn of 2024. Overall, 9,883 public initiatives were submitted from all 89 regions, of which 1,497 socially-oriented NPOs became winners based on the results of an independent expert review. The Presidential Grants Foundation will allocate 4.7 billion rubles for the implementation of their projects.

The Coordinating Committee has also approved the distribution of another 2.2 billion rubles among 84 regions that applied for co-financing of their allocations to socially-oriented NPOs.

The executive bodies of these regions or their authorised regional operators will distribute their own funds (3.8 billion rubles) and the co-financing they receive on the basis of open and transparent tenders.

Projects for the next Presidential Grants competition will be accepted from February 3 to March 17, 2025.

It was also noted at the meeting that in accordance with Presidential Executive Order No. 26 of January 16, 2025, On the Development of Infrastructure to Support Non-Profit Organisations, the Presidential Grants Foundation had been instructed to establish a School of Management for Non-Profit Organisations and a Centre for the Development of Digital Services. These non-profit organisations will create additional conditions for personal fulfilment of citizens in the social sphere and for the development of the sector of socially-oriented non-profit organisations.
