The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Article 124 of the Federal Law On Exclusive Economic Zone of the Russian Federation.
The federal law aims to regulate several aspects of fishing in the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation.
Specifically, for the purposes of control and oversight, the federal law requires that checkpoints and control procedures be established for Russian and foreign fishing vessels entering or exiting from the exclusive economic zone.
In addition to this, individuals engaged in fishing in the Russian exclusive economic zone, will have to pass through the said checkpoints and follow the established control procedures.
