Dmitry Medvedev appointed Anatoly Antonov to the post of Deputy Defence Minister responsible for international military cooperation.
The new Deputy Defence Minister’s responsibilities will include all aspects of international military cooperation and Defence Ministry contacts with foreign defence agencies.
Mr Antonov was one of the participants in the Russian-US negotiations on the new START Treaty.
The President noted that Mr Antonov’s negotiating experience and the results achieved, made him well prepared to carry out his new mission and duties with maximum effectiveness.
