Following the accident on the nuclear submarine Yekaterinburg Dmitry Medvedev continuously received reports from Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu and Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov on measures taken to put out the fire.
President Medvedev instructed senior officers of the Defence Ministry to travel to the scene of the accident.
The President instructed Deputy Prime Ministers Dmitry Rogozin and Igor Sechin to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident, and to take all necessary measures to repair the submarine.
Besides, following the President’s instruction the Prosecutor General’s Office and other investigative authorities will scrutinize all the circumstances of the accident on the nuclear submarine Yekaterinburg. The investigation should establish the guilt of the individuals responsible for the emergency.
