The President will visit the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army Vasily Margelov, where he will chair a meeting on developing the military education system.
Meeting participants will examine issues related to restoring the status of military academy branches to that of independent educational institutions, giving universities the right to develop national standards and hold additional entrance examinations, and the prospects for upgrading teaching facilities.
Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu will make a speech during the meeting.
Vladimir Putin will also attend the ceremony awarding the Suvorov Order to the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School, which celebrated its 95th anniversary on November 13. A relevant executive order awarding the decoration to the school was signed by the President.
