Vladimir Putin congratulated current and veteran servicemen in the Russian Airborne Forces on their professional holiday, Paratroopers Day.
The message reads, in part:
“Paratroopers are deservedly considered the elite of our nation’s Armed Forces. They are always at the forefront. We are proud of the deeds of our servicemen and officers who boldly and courageously resolved all the tasks set before them, demonstrating in the most complicated circumstances top-level skills, fortitude and personal courage.
It is important for today’s generation of the ‘winged infantry’ to carefully preserve and strengthen the patriotic traditions of their forebears, reliably protecting Russia’s national interests. Service in the Airborne Forces is the true school of professionalism, civic consciousness and dedication to military duty.”
