The President will hold an expanded session of Defence Ministry Board

Vladimir Putin will hold an expanded session of the Defence Ministry Board on December 19 in Moscow. This will be the first time the session is held at the National Defence Control Centre of the Russian Federation.

The Board is slated to take stock of the Russian Armed Forces’ activities in 2014 and establish objectives for 2015.

Participants in the Board’s work will include the commanders of the Armed Forces branches and combat arms commanders, the heads of the central military command agencies, commanders of military districts, fleets, large units, and individual major formations of the Russian Federation Armed Forces. Also invited are senior Presidential Executive Office staff, Cabinet members, the Speakers of the two chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and representatives from other federal government agencies, as well as veterans’ and public organisations.

The Commander in Chief will also be briefed about the work of key elements at the National Defence Control Centre of the Russian Federation and participate in a Common Day of Accepting Military Industrial Complex Products for equipping the troops and military and social infrastructure of the Armed Forces.

Mr Putin will complete the visit to the Centre by meeting with permanent Security Council members.
