Vladimir Putin expressed his profound condolences and passed on words of sympathy to Irina Mikhalkina over the death of Marshal of the Artillery Vladimir Mikhalkin.
The President’s message reads, in part:
“A remarkable military commander, patriot and a true defender of the Fatherland has passed away. Vladimir Mikhalkin weathered the challenges he faced on the frontlines of the Great Patriotic War with honour and dignity. Over the following decades he made a major contribution to strengthening our armed Forces and developing missile troops and the artillery, and in serving his country he always remained faithful to his oath and duty.”
