Vladimir Putin signed executive orders giving honorary names to 11 Russian military units.
The President awarded a number of regiments and divisions of the Russian Army honorary names used by their predecessors who distinguished themselves during the Great Patriotic War.
The honorary names are given to military units in order to preserve the glorious military traditions and to promote devotion to the Fatherland and military duty among service personnel.
