Vladimir Putin congratulated the command and personnel of the 80th Guard Red Banner Tank Regiment on being awarded the honorary Guards title.
The message reads, in part:
“This is a high honour and a recognition of your special merits, mass heroism and valour shown as you protected the Motherland and defended the sovereignty and state interests of Russia. The skillful and resolute actions of the regiment’s personnel during the special military operation in Ukraine are an example of military duty, courage, dedication, and high professionalism.
I believe that you, guard soldiers and officers, will continue to be loyal to your oath, serve the Motherland with honour, and firmly ensure the security and peaceful life of our citizens.”
