Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the commanders and personnel of the 71st Motor Rifle Regiment on receiving the honorary Guards designation.
The message reads, in part:
”This is a great honour and recognition of your special achievements, collective heroism and courage, fortitude and bravery shown in protecting the Fatherland and Russia's state interests.
The regiment’s skilful and resolute actions in the course of the special military operation serve as an example of military duty, courage, selflessness and high professionalism.
I am convinced that you, Guards soldiers, will remain loyal to your Oath and serve the Fatherland with honour, reliably ensuring the security and peaceful life of our people.”
