Vladimir Putin congratulated the command and personnel of the 18th Guards Assault Aviation Regiment on being awarded the Guards honorary designation.
The message reads, in part:
“This is a high honour and recognition of your special merits, group heroism, valour, fortitude and bravery in defence of the Fatherland and the national interests of Russia.
The skilful and bold action of the regiment's personnel during the special military operation is an example of military duty, courage, selflessness, and high professionalism.
I believe that you, the guardsmen, will continue to be faithful to your Oath, serve the Fatherland with honour, and reliably ensure the safety and peaceful life of our people.”
