Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On Establishing the Staffing Levels of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In accordance with Article 4 of Federal Law On Defence No. 61-FZ of May 31, 1996, the President ordered that the staffing levels of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation total 2,209,130 persons, including 1,320,000 military personnel.
The Government of the Russian Federation has been instructed to provide the Ministry of Defence with appropriate funding from the federal budget.
