The President signed Executive Order On Conferring the Honorary Guards Designation on the 89th Sapper Regiment.
For mass heroism and courage, fortitude and bravery shown by the regiment’s personnel in combat operations to defend the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President has conferred the honorary Guards designation on the 89th Sapper Regiment. Henceforth, it shall be referred to as the 89th Guards Sapper Regiment.
