The President signed Executive Order On Awarding an Honorary Designation to the 1442nd Motor Rifle Regiment.
For mass heroism and courage, fortitude and bravery shown by the regiment personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President resolved to award the honorary Guards designation to the 1442nd Motor Rifle Regiment, which shall henceforth be referred to as the 1442nd Guards Motor Rifle Regiment.
