Dmitry Medvedev signed several Executive Orders On Conferring Special Senior Ranks to the Russian Federation Interior Ministry Officers and Appointments of the Russian Federation Interior Ministry Officers.
In particular, the following appointments were made:
Police Lieutenant General Vladimir Gorshukov has been appointed head of the Interior Ministry’s Directorate for Special Forces and Aviation Support;
Police Major General Alexander Prokopchuk has been appointed head of the Interior Ministry’s Interpol National Central Bureau;
Police Major General Viktor Nilov has been appointed head of the Interior Ministry’s Main Traffic Safety Directorate;
Police Lieutenant General Viktor Rakitin has been appointed head of the Interior Ministry’s Operations Directorate.
