Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Article 16 and Article 37 of the Federal Law on Consular Charter of the Russian Federation.
The amendments concern providing assistance to consular offices and consular departments at diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation in certain foreign states in order to perform certain consular actions and exercise certain authorities in terms of accepting documents from applicants.
Under the Federal Law, the federal executive body in charge of foreign affairs shall approve the regulations governing the procedure for appointing an honorary consul of the Russian Federation, dismissing them from office, or extending their term of office.
