Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Article 121 of the Federal Law On Countering Corruption.
The federal law stipulates that, unless otherwise provided by federal legislation, individuals who hold municipal office may not hold public office at the federal or regional levels, or any other municipal office, public office, or position in municipal services.
The amendments are designed to prevent legal conflicts between the Federal Law On Countering Corruption and the Federal Law On the General Principles of Local Government Organisation in the Russian Federation.
