Meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Communist Party Central Commission for Discipline Inspection

September 25, 2015, The Kremlin, Moscow

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov met with a delegation from the Chinese Communist Party Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Mr Ivanov described current Russian-Chinese relations as a “comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation”, and said that this description accurately reflects the essence of the multi-level, wide-ranging and trusting ties between the two countries. The recently established cooperation mechanism between Russia’s Presidential Executive Office and the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee Staff adds an important component to these ties.

In this respect, the visit by a Chinese delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Wu Yuliang is another big step towards strengthening bilateral ties through the key government bodies responsible for fighting corruption.

Mr Wu thanked his Russian colleagues for their warm hospitality, gave a positive assessment of the joint work with the Presidential Anti-Corruption Directorate and the Presidential Control Directorate, and particularly noted the usefulness of exchanging experience in implementing the most effective anti-corruption practices.

The Chinese delegation will also visit St Petersburg, which in November will host the conference of countries party to the UN Convention against Corruption.
