Bilateral consultations on countering corruption were held via videoconference as part of advancing the relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between Russia and China.
The Russian delegation headed by Chief of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Directorate Andrei Chobotov took part in discussing the current issues of inter-state cooperation and practical anti-corruption collaboration. The Chinese delegation was headed by Director of China’s National Supervisory Commission, Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Yang Xiaodu.
An expert discussion involving top officials of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation focused on interaction of the two countries’ anti-corruption bodies and prospects for its further development. Working out unified approaches to countering corruption and coordinated positions within multilateral anti-corruption dialogue formats was also discussed.
Following the consultations, specific steps were approved on deepening the integration process. In particular, Andrei Chobotov invited Yang Xiaodu to personally visit Moscow shortly to seal the reached agreements in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Presidential Anti-Corruption Directorate and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.
