Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Amendments to the Presidential Executive Order No. 715 of June 24, 2009 On National Free Television Channels and Radio Stations and to the List of Mandatory Free National Channels Approved Thereby.
The Order states, in particular, that the National State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK) is to establish and broadcast a regional free television channel in each region of the Russian Federation, and is also to carry out digital broadcasting of regional free television channels in each region as part of regional multiplexes.
The relevant instructions have been sent to the Government.
