Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On Communications.
The Federal Law is aimed at improving the system of universal communication services in the Russian Federation. Under this law, at least one internet access point should be created in areas with a population of one hundred to five hundred people that do not have data transmission services and Internet access.
In addition, if mobile radiotelephone communication services are not provided in the indicated areas, then at least one access point must be equipped with communication means for their provision.
The Federal Law provides for the possibility of using electronic sharing capabilities to alert people about a natural or industrial emergency or the threat of such an emergency.
