Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Anna Kuznetsova met with Director of the Federal Bailiff Service Artur Parfenchikov to discuss a number of issues related to protecting children’s right to property.
Anna Kuznetsova and Artur Parfenchikov discussed the collection of child support payments, particularly, for minors who have been left without parental care at orphanages. The Bailiff Service Director noted a gradual decrease in the number of cases opened against individuals who have failed to make child support payments.
Another issue concerned allocation of housing to orphaned children. Ms Kuznetsova stressed the importance of close cooperation between local offices of the Bailiff Service and children’s rights commissioners in the Russian regions.
As a result of the meeting, a number of priority issues were selected for a joint resolution and plans were drawn up for further cooperation.
